Nestled in the heart of Wisconsin’s Northwoods, Three Lakes School District is surrounded by lakes, forestland and recreational opportunities. In the summer, visitors from around the country — and even the world — travel to our neck of the woods to experience some of the finest natural beauty around.

On a clear night, you’re likely to hear loons calling across the still air. You might see a bear or two, and we promise that you’ll glimpse an eagle nesting in the pine trees across Maple Lake. The fishing is good, the waterskiing is fantastic, the trails are many, and the community is supportive and welcoming.

Our district is made of several small towns, including Hiles, Monico, Piehl, Stella, Sugar Camp and Three Lakes, and it covers about 305 square miles. Within those 305 square miles, you’ll find the largest freshwater chain of lakes in the world, two national forests and an impressive network of hiking, snowshoeing and bicycling trails. 

It’s truly an outdoors playground.

Aside from our district’s natural beauty, we take great pride in our community. From community groups to churches to art associations, the area’s residents work and live together, supporting the school district in many facets. It’s just part of small-town life.
