The community of Sugar Camp sits off of Hwy 17 about halfway between Rhinelander and Eagle River. The town itself is nestled between lakes and  — as its name aptly describes — groves of sugar maples. It's from these abundant maples that produce maple sugar and sap that the town earned its name.
